New Phosphorous-free ***ergent Auxiliary Modified Sodium Disilicate (MDS)
I. Overviews
Fast-soluble modified sodium disilicate, with molecular formula of Na2Si2O5 and commercial designation of MDS, is manufactured through special process of adding active auxiliaries into sodium silicate. The pH value is within 10.5 12.5, apparent density within 0.20.7g/cm3 and solubility (20) over 50g/100g in water. Besides, its characterized by fast dissolving speed, lower requirement for temperature and better solubility than crystalline layered sodium disilicate, 4A zeolite and other sodium silicate powder products. As a phosphorous-free ***ergent auxiliary, the fast-soluble modified sodium disilicate (MDS) satisfies all technical and ecological requirements for substitute of ***P.
Main performances and characteristics of the fasts-soluble modified sodium disilicate (MDS):
(1) Favorable water softening performance. MDS has good capacity of binding and exchanging with calcium ion and magnesium ion and the exchanging process is fast and thorough. Thus its applicable to lower washing temperature. In practical washing process, MDS could effectively suppress interference of hard water ions to surfactants.
2 Favorable water-solubility.
3 Favorable pH buffering effect. Co***red with auxiliaries as ***P and 4A zeolite etc, MDS has stronger buffering effect and could maintain higher alkalinity of secondary ***ergent solution.
4 Comprehensively applicable to various ***ergents and different processing methods. MDS can either be used to pre-proportioning of washing powder for tower spray process or used for producing concentrated washing powder. Moreover, It is also a perfect basic raw material for different kinds of solid ***ergents.
